59.Supriya has sent us: Chilli Paneer Sandwich

Ingredients:4 slices of 12-grain bread (store brand) ButterShredded mozarella cheese , 1 spring onion - chopped For the tomato spread -1 large clove of garlic - chopped 2 tomatoes - chopped 1 tbsp regular ketchup 1 tbsp Maggi Hot & Sweet Ketchup 1/2 tsp ova/ajwain 1/4 tsp Degi mirchi pwd 1 tbsp olive oil Salt, pepper

For the chilli paneer - 1 cup paneer cubes (Store-bought paneer, cut into small cubes) 1/2 tbsp soy sauce, 1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 1/2 tsp Degi mirchi pwd, Salt, pepper.

Marinate the paneer cubes in the above mix for about 1/2 hr, then shallow fried them in 2 tbsp olive oil. Prep the tomato spread by heating oil, adding garlic, frying till light brown, then adding all the other ingredients and cooking few mins. To prep the sandwich, butter the slice lightly & grilled in on my grilling pan, then lay on some of the tomato spread, topped with the paneer, shredded cheese & finally garnished with some spring onion slices. Leave it open-faced & served a simple salad of greens, cucumber & shredded carrots on the side.

And finally two entries from me. Actually one from me and one from my 6 year old who got so excited about all the entries that he decided that he had to make his own sandwich entry to celebrate the Sandwich Festival which his dear Aai was hosting.

After looking at all the beautiful and elaborate entries I admit I am a little embarrassed to submit my very very simple and ordinary entry. But Tuna is something completely new to me and I have very recently discovered how delicious it tastes in a sandwich. The second ingredient I tasted for the first time when I came to UK and simply loved is Hummus. So although the combination of the 2 might be unconventional I went for it and made this Tuna Cucumber and Hummus Sandwich which is delicious ,very filling and wholesome. Another reason why I am posting this particular sandwich is because this picture of mine has recieved a record number of views on Flickr in a very short time. So I thought a lot of people might like to know what's in it.

Tuna Cucumber and Hummus Sandwich

Tuna Lettuce and Cucumber Sandwiches

There is no recipe as such as I have used all store bought ingredients like Tinned Tuna, Hummus ,Cucumbers and Lettuce. Just piled them all one on top of the other and my Sandwich was ready.

Nutella and Banana Sandwich by Devashish

Banana Nutella Sandwich

This one according to my son is the ultimate sandwich. He spread Nutella Chocolate and Hazelnut Spread on two whole wheat slices and sandwiched slices of banana between the two. He goes into a dreamy trance while eating this.

Updates: Here are three more entries to the Sandwich Festival

What an eye opener, never realized so many tasty sandwiches could be made, rather than being an after thought it could be a star in its own right.

As for the Nutella, banana sandwich that is one of the best.

Swati: I think you will be able to see the pics now.

Thanks Arundathi, was possible only because of all of you.

Indosungod: I read out your comment to my son and he was so delighted.

Passionate Baker...& beyond: He does like to help out in whatever little way when he is in the mood. If he becomes a chef as an adult I'll be thrilled. A good change after all the software engineers we have these days.

Thanks Notyet 100. The efforts taken by all can be seen.

Servesyouright: Thanks for that lovely bread Smita. Am going to make it soon.

Yes JZ as soon as I come up with an exciting idea. This one took me one whole year to come up with. Hope the next on comes sooner.

Happy Cook: Yes it's quite a list ,isn't it? I wanted to write a few words of my own about each but with almost 70 entries it became a bit tough

Thanks Sangeeth

Srivalli, It was my pleasure. I'll read your comment to my son ,he will be thrilled.

Shubha: Thanks for pointing out the error. I have rectified it. Iam glad you told me because having a perfect round-up is very important.

Hi Kevin, Thanks for dropping by and glad you like the roundup.
